At Spiler Psychotherapy, our mission is to help our clients develop and cultivate positive mental health skills that can bring forth personal growth, self-awareness, quality-of-life improvements, and professional fulfillment. We strive to help individuals, couples, and families improve relationships and interpersonal communication skills. Our work with trauma treatment and PTSD counseling allows individuals suffering from trauma-based ailments to regain a sense of resilience, strength, and empowerment so they can lead healthier and happier lives. We are LGBTQ+ friendly and work with individuals of all cultures and backgrounds.

Mario Spiler, President and Clinical Director of Spiler Psychotherapy, has been a compassionate mental health practitioner for over 37 years. Spiler Psychotherapy works with a variety of mental health conditions, including emotional dysregulation, anxiety, depression, mood disorders, and personality disorders such as Narcissistic Personality Disorder (NPD), Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD), and Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD). Our practitioners serve individuals, families, and couples. We offer couples counseling for marriages and partnerships to help heal conflicts and intimacy challenges and to improve communication skills between individuals. We also work with parents to help improve parenting styles, particularly in co-parenting situations.

Spiler Psychotherapy specializes in working with individuals who have PTSD, operational stress injuries, and trauma, including veterans, police officers, firefighters, critical first responders, and hospital staff. We frequently utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Transference-Focused Psychotherapy, Mentalization-Based Therapy, and Psychodynamic Therapy to help foster holistic healing modalities for our patients.

At present, we are an online-only private social work psychotherapy practice. Beginning in 2008, we collaborated with Mapping Insights and rebranded as Spiler Psychotherapy in 2019. We are located in Burlington, Ontario, and in 2020, we expanded our practice to offer online virtual therapy, allowing us to serve a larger Canadian population. Mario Spiler is licensed to provide therapy in Ontario, including the greater Toronto area, and in the provinces of British Columbia and Nova Scotia.

Treating Borderline Personality Disorder

Embarking on a journey towards healing, our group of mental health therapists begins with an initial consultation, tailoring treatment to your unique mental health needs. Anchored in evidence, our treatment framework centers on Transference-focused Psychotherapy (TFP), grounded in psychodynamic principles. Complementing this, we embrace modalities like Mentalization-Based Therapy (MBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), ensuring a comprehensive approach to your well-being.

Exploring Treatment for Borderline Personality Disorder can support you in the following ways:
